79 Comptroller Object Selection

Inquiry only. The Comptroller Object Selection (79) screen provides users with the ability to view and scroll through a listing of comptroller objects for a selected appropriation year (AY) sorted either by comptroller object or by object group. The listing is generated from centrally defined records in the Comptroller Object Profile (D10). If a comptroller object is entered in the STARTING – COMP OBJ field, the listing of comptroller objects recalled will start with the object specified. If no comptroller object is entered, all comptroller objects for the selected AY will be listed in numerical order. This screen will list all comptroller objects for the requested AY regardless of their status code or effective date.

The 79 screen can also be accessed from a transaction entry screen.

  • On the transaction entry screen, locate the cursor in the comptroller object field and press the F1 key to bring up the 79 screen.
  • To select a comptroller object, enter any single character in the selection (S) field to the left of the comptroller object.
  • Press the F4 key to return to transaction entry. The selected comptroller object will be carried to the financial transaction that is being entered.
  • The STARTING – OBJ GROUP will be populated based upon the Transaction Code Options Profile (28B) for the transaction code used on the transaction.
  • The AY will be populated based upon the AY of the transaction. If AY has not yet been entered on the screen, the 79 screen will come up blank.
