Form for Semiannual Verification of Users’ Security Access Levels Due May 2

Security coordinators are required to certify that their records are up to date through a semiannual security verification process that is concurrent for all Fiscal Management applications.

On April 1, Fiscal Management will mail each agency and institution of higher education a printout of those with access to each system. An online attestation form PDF must be completed and returned by Monday, May 2, for agency or institution security requests to continue to be accepted.

Warrants Available for Pickup 8 to 10 a.m. on Friday, March 25

Although the Comptroller’s office will be closed for business on March 25 in observance of Good Friday, Payment Services will distribute warrants from 8 to 10 a.m. The warrants will be for the March 24 processing cycle.

Reminder – NASACT Middle Management Conference

The National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers and Treasurers’ (NASACT) Middle Management Conference will be held April 12–14 in Austin. Texas state government employees are invited to attend. The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and State Auditor’s Office are co-hosts for this event.

  • Who should attend: emerging leaders in state government financial management, auditing and training
  • Registration Deadline: April 1, 2016
  • CPE Credits: 20 (recommended)

CAPPS HR/Payroll Production Maintenance on March 20

The CAPPS HR/Payroll Production environments will undergo extended maintenance to conduct PSU patching beginning Sunday, March 20, from 2 a.m. to noon.

The following environments will be unavailable during this time:

  • HCMPRD1 – CAPPS HR/Payroll Production
  • HCMRPT1 – CAPPS HR/Payroll Reporting
  • PIHPRD1 – CAPPS Portal Production

In addition to the above environments being unavailable, Control M jobs will be suspended during this maintenance. All jobs will be run upon completion of the maintenance.

CAPPS FIN Production Maintenance on March 19 and 20

The CAPPS Financials Production environments will undergo Windows patching maintenance on Saturday, March 19, from midnight to 3 a.m. During this time, the search feature in Production will not be available. The Production environments will remain available.

In addition, the CAPPS Financials Production environments will undergo extended maintenance to conduct PSU patching beginning Sunday, March 20, from 2 a.m. to noon.

The following environments will be unavailable during this time:

  • FINPRD1 – CAPPS Financials Production
  • FINRPT1 – CAPPS Financials Reporting
  • PIHPRD1 – CAPPS Portal Production

In addition to the above environments being unavailable, Control M jobs will be suspended during this maintenance. All jobs will be run upon completion of the maintenance.

Reminder – Deadline Approaching for Second Quarter Veteran Workforce Summary Reports

The online quarterly Veteran Workforce Summary Report acknowledgment form (with required complaint reporting included) must be submitted by March 23.

Fiscal 2015 CAFR Now Available

The State of Texas Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is published to provide a thorough picture of the state’s financial condition. The report is compiled from information in the statewide financial systems and individual agency annual financial reports.

The CAFR includes financial statements for the primary government and the component units of the state, management’s discussion and analysis, and a statistical data section.

Fiscal 2015 Citizen-Centric Report Highlights State Financial Information

Citizen-centric reporting of government financial information is a growing national trend, and another way the state of Texas is informing citizens in plain language on how their tax dollars are being spent.
