Chapter 5 – Profiles (continued)

24 Index Code Profile

Purpose of the 24 Index Code Profile

The 24 Index Code Profile updates the Organization Structure for accounting information.

The 24 Profile can be used to infer elements required to update other USAS structures; for example, Appropriation Number to update the Appropriation Structure.

The 24 Profile must be established if an agency meets one of the following criteria:

  • Agency internal budgets are maintained and controlled by the organization structure.
  • Agency controls appropriations at the organization level. Current state policy requires appropriation control at the program/strategic level.
  • Agency uses the Cost Allocation subsystem in USAS.
