USPS Process Guide
Chapter 1: Positions –

H7OU1 – Updating Job Class Information

Screen: H7OU1
Prerequisites: H7SLS
Key Fields: AGENCY, JOB CLASS CODE, EFFECTIVE DATE

Note: USPS Support maintains the classified job class codes (pay tables A, B, and C); agencies have display-only access to this information. Access classified job class codes using agency 0 on the Command line. To view a list of job class codes for either agency 0 or agency specific (for unclassified and exempt job class codes), access the H7OLS (Job Class Directory) screen. H7OLS will link to the H7OU1 for a specific job class code when U1 is entered in the subcommand line.

Valid job class codes for unclassified and exempt positions are established at the agency level, but the exempt job class must be included on table HNTEX (Authorized Exempt Job Class Information) before the system allows use.

Exempt positions, which include titles listed in the General Appropriations Act (GAA) Schedule of exempt positions, are entered as 03 in the TABLE TYPE field.

Unclassified positions, which include Article III higher education agencies, Article X legislative agencies, CP25 compensatory board members, JD25 judges, BD25 per-diem board members, and any other position that is not classified or included in the GAA schedule of exempt positions are entered as 02 in the TABLE TYPE field.
