H7SLS – Updating Pay Table Information

Prerequisites: The position control fiscal year dates on HNKPC must be current to update pay table information.
Key Fields: AGENCY, TABLE TYPE, PAY GROUP, PAY STEP, EFFECTIVE DATE
Step Action
1 Access H7SLS using agency number and table type:
Pay Table 02 Unclassified positions, excluding exempt positions
Pay Table 03 Exempt positions

Note: USPS Support maintains pay tables A, B and C. Agencies cannot update these tables, but they have display-only access. To access pay tables A, B, or C, go to screen name H7S1A, H7S1B, or H7S1C.

Enter R or I in the SUBCOMMAND field.

Note: If you are inserting a new record by cloning an old record, be aware that any field not cleared out will be cloned to the new record.

3 Enter the following fields as required:
AGENCY (Key)
PAY GROUP (Key)
Enter a user-defined, numeric pay group.
PAY STEP (Key)
Enter a user-defined, numeric character to indicate the pay step associated with the pay group.
EFFECTIVE DATE (Key)
Enter the effective date of the pay rate or amount.
HOURLY RATE (Display)
The system calculates the hourly rate based on annual salary when you process the record. The calculated amount represents the maximum not-to-exceed hourly rate.
MONTHLY SALARY (Display)
A system-calculated field based on the value entered for annual salary.
ANNUAL SALARY (Required)
Enter the total yearly salary or wages. This amount represents the maximum not-to-exceed amount.
INACTIVE DATE (Optional)
The date the pay rate is longer effective. Leave the zeros in this field if there is no inactive date.
4 Press Enter to process the transaction.
