Meal and Lodging Exceptions
Exceptions for Employees of the Legislature or a State Agency in the Legislative Branch
A state employee employed by the Legislature or a state agency in the legislative branch may be reimbursed for travel expenses as determined by the employing house of the Legislature or the employing state agency, per Texas Government Code, Section 660.204. If the House or agency determines that the expenses will be reimbursed on an “actual expenses” basis, then the maximum amount of that reimbursement is equal to twice the amount that could be reimbursed to a regular state employee, per General Appropriations Act, Article IX, Section 5.06.
