Accruals

An accrual is vacation and sick time given on a monthly basis to eligible employees. Once an employee is hired into USPS, the system uses prior state service information and communicates the leave accruals to the leave accounting system.

Accruals automatically post to each employee once Report 156 is run. (Report 156 will be discussed in more detail later.) If an employee is not eligible to receive accruals for the month, you have to suppress the accruals on screen HMCU1 before Report 156 is run.
