a. Sample Agency XXX should report $150,000 in its fiscal 20CY SEFA expenditures and $0 in its fiscal 20CY SEFA Note 8. The disaster occurred in fiscal 20CY so all related disaster expenditures must be recorded in fiscal 20CY. These expenditures must not be reported in Note 8 because the expenditures were not incurred in a PY.

b. Sample Agency XXX should report $100,000 in its fiscal 20CY SEFA expenditures and disclose $50,000 in its fiscal 20CY Note 8. This assumes the expenditures were allocated equally over the three months. The September expenditures will be reported in fiscal 20FY and therefore must be disclosed in Note 8.

c. Sample Agency XXX should report $0 in its fiscal 20CY SEFA expenditures and $150,000 in its fiscal 20CY SEFA Note 8. This will disclose in Note 8 the value of the expenditures the agency actually incurred but cannot record in their SEFA because the expenditures were not approved until fiscal 20FY.

d. Sample Agency XXX should not report the expenditures in the fiscal 20CY SEFA expenditures or Note 8. These expenditures were approved in fiscal 20FY and therefore should be reported and disclosed in fiscal 20FY.
