Spousal Maintenance

An agency may receive a court order to garnish an employee’s wages to enforce a spousal maintenance order as authorized by Texas Family Code, Sections 8.001, 8.054-061, 8.101 and 8.102(b).

A maintenance order is an award in a suit for dissolution of a marriage of periodic payments from the future income of one spouse for the support of the other spouse.

Set up a new mail code based on the instructions provided in the court order. The SIC Code assigned for the spousal maintenance mail code is 9938.
