USAS Interagency Transactions

Lesson 6: Entering a Recurring Transaction Profile

Allocation Percentages

Format

The RTI profile requires an allocation percentage. Always establish RTIs with percentages rather than amounts.

The percentage is entered in the % ALLOCATED field as a decimal (e.g., 0.25, 0.50 or 1.0). The AMOUNT or DOC AMT fields should not be used.

When only one transaction coding block is established in the RTI, the entire transfer in is processed based on that coding block. The allocating percentages should equal 100 percent, entered as 1.0.

Receipt of funds

Multiple transactions may be established for one RTI. This allows the RTI agency to allocate the receipt of funds as needed using a percentage method.

For example, the user could set up the RTI profile so it allocates 45 percent of the transfer to one transaction string (T-code, PCA, COBJ, etc.) and 55 percent to another transaction string (different PCA or COBJ, etc.).

The sum of all transaction strings within an RTI must equal 100 percent. The field % Sum should never go over 1.0.
