USAS Help Navigation

What is Help?

Help provides explanations and information to aid USAS users.

Types of Help

USAS has four types of online Help:

  • Screen Help–describes the functions of USAS screens.
  • Error Code Help–explains error messages in USAS.
  • Report Help–provides a description of the requestable reports and certain customizing options.
  • Data Element Help–lists valid profile values to be used in transaction entry for a specific agency.

90 News/Help Table

The 90 News/Help Table contains narrative information about edits and screens in USAS.

Screen Help, Error Code Help, and Report Help are stored in the 90 News/Help Table.

A user can access the 90 News/Help Table in three ways:

  • By pressing F1 from any inquiry screen or profile in USAS.

    Note: F1-HELP functions as an automatic F4-INTERRUPT. To return to the original screen or profile from the 90 News/Help Table, a user must press the F4 key.

  • By selecting Option S on the MAIN MENU and entering <90> at the Enter Screen ID field on the System Management Submenu.
  • By linking directly from a screen or profile.

Data Element Help

Data Element Help is not stored in 90 News/Help Table. To access Data Element Help, a user must press F1 from a transaction entry screen, select option Q from the MAIN MENU, or enter the appropriate Screen ID at the Enter Screen ID field on the Auxiliary Profile Maintenance Menu. The user can also directly link to the Data Element Help screens.
