Per Texas Government Code, Section 660.015, a state agency may reimburse an employee for a cancellation charge related to a travel expense if the charge is incurred:
- For a reason related to state business.
- For a reason related to state business that could not be conducted because of a natural disaster.
— or —
- Because an employee was unable to use transportation that was paid in advance to obtain a cost savings because that employee was ill or had a personal emergency.
