Releasing Held Warrants
Release by Paying Agency

The paying agency may only release the warrant if:

  • The payment was made in whole or part with Federal Funds.

    –OR–

  • The payment needs to be cancelled because it was issued in error and the hold source agency or agencies consent to the release of the payment. The consent must be:
    • In writing
    • Obtained on a payment-by-payment basis
    • Retained for audit purposes
