Payee Inquiry Screens
Multi-Tax Summary (MTSUMM)

The Multi-Tax Summary (MTSUMM) screen is part of the Comptroller’s Integrated Taxpayer System (ITS) for information about state taxpayers. The screen displays information an agency may need when setting up and/or researching payees in TINS.

The Comptroller’s ITS system stores SSNs for sole owners but does not assign taxpayer numbers based on SSNs or ITINs. With the TINS assignment of 7 TINs for SSN- and ITIN-based numbers, 7 TINs are excluded from MTSUMM inquiries. An MTSUMM inquiry must be performed with the assigned taxpayer number beginning with 3 for sole owners who are also taxpayers. Obtain the sole owner’s taxpayer number from a TINS inquiry screen before performing an MTSUMM inquiry to verify the sole owner’s information.

MTSUMM automatically calculates the check digit for a TIN.

Note: This screen contains confidential information that should not be disclosed to the public.
