Inactivation and Purge Processes

To ensure only current payee information is maintained in TINS, the Comptroller’s office maintains a schedule and criteria for inactivating and purging outdated TINS records that include:

  • Inactivation of mail codes and Texas Identification Numbers (TINs)
  • Purge of direct deposit information (does not purge the mail code)
  • Purge of payee maintenance history (PMTHIS)
  • Purge of mail codes and TINs

Note: This is a high-level summary that should not be used as the basis for your agency’s internal system.
