Introduction to General Provisions
Security Requirements for TINS Access
Users may have different levels of TINS security based on job responsibilities and segregation of duties. Based on your user security access, you could have inquiry only or inquiry and update access in TINS.
- With inquiry access, you can view payee, direct deposit, hold records and payment information for your agency.
- With update access, you can set up and update either payee, direct deposit or debtor hold records, a combination of, or all three types of records. Update access includes view access to the type(s) of records you can update.
In addition, you may be granted security to submit electronic transactions via the nightly processing cycle as covered in Batch Processing. This security access should include access for TINS restricted technical documentation to view the TINS File Layouts and Check Digit Algorithms (login required) as well as the Payment Services Forms, which help define the required data for submitting electronic transactions.
For more information or questions about your TINS security access, contact your agency’s security coordinator (login required).
