TINS 84104A: Non-Processed / Warning Payee Maintenance Transactions
Overview
This report lists error and warning messages for payee maintenance transactions submitted via batch to TINS. Payee maintenance transactions include payee master and mail code setups and changes. Error messages are generated on transactions that do not process in TINS. Warnings are generated when TINS processes the submitted transactions by making changes, such as address validation changes, and provides the agency with information about the changes. Error and warning messages are grouped by payee number with error messages listed first.
The report is sorted by the 11-digit TIN, with the lowest number first.
Purpose
It is important to review error and warning messages to determine if updates need to be made to your agency’s internal system.

Daily (Not generated when transaction files are not submitted or the submitted files are error-free)

Field Descriptions
REPORT ID
Displays the unique report number, TINS 84104A.
AGENCY NUMBER
Displays the three-digit agency number.
RUN DATE
Displays the date (MM/DD/YY) the transaction non-processed.
PAGE
Displays the sequential number for each page.
REPORT TITLE
Displays the name of the report.
AGENCY
Displays the three-digit agency number and agency name that submitted the transactions.
ERROR TYPE
Displays the numeric code and description of the error or warning. See Exception Codes for the list of TINS error and warning codes.
T-CODE
Displays the three-digit transaction code that was submitted. See TINS Transaction Codes for the list of TINS T-codes.
PAYEE NUMBER
Displays the 11-digit TIN that was submitted.
TAXPAYER NUMBER
Displays the Comptroller 11-digit tax number associated with the payee number or all zeros.
OWNERSHIP TYPE
Displays the description of the ownership type that was submitted. See Ownership Types for a list of TINS ownership types.
NAME
Displays the payee name that was submitted.
ADDRESS LINES
Displays the mailing address information for the mail code submitted or changed by TINS.
CITY
Displays the city that was submitted.
STATE
Displays the state abbreviation that was submitted.
ZIP CODE
Displays the ZIP code +4 that was submitted.
ZONE CODE
Displays the three-digit zone code that was submitted.
MAIL CODE
Displays the three-digit mail code that was submitted.
XREF NUMBER
Displays the 2 TIN for an SSN- or ITIN-based TIN when submitted by an agency. The field will be blank if the submitted transaction fails to process, and the submitted 2 TIN will display in the PAYEE NUMBER field.
OWNER’S NUMBERS
Based on the ownership type submitted, displays the:
- Sole owner’s SSN or ITIN
- Two partners’ SSNs, ITINs or federal employer identification numbers (EINs)
- 10-digit Texas charter number
OWNER’S NAMES
Displays the sole owner’s name if ownership type S (Sole Owner) was submitted or the two partners’ names if ownership type P (Partnership) was submitted.
SIC CODE
Displays the four-digit Standard Industrial Classification code that was submitted.
SECURITY TYPE – SOURCE
Displays the description of the security level for the mail code that was submitted and the securing source agency number.
TELEPHONE NUMBER
Displays the area code and telephone number that was submitted.
ERROR/WARNING RE-CAP
On a separate and last page of the report, displays a summary of all error and warning codes, descriptions, number of errors/warnings per code and total number of errors/warnings for the agency.
