Maximum Security and Behavioral Management Unit Salaries

Background

The Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is authorized to pay certain employees additional compensation for working in a maximum security unit or a behavioral management unit of state hospitals and state-supported living centers.

Pay Amount

Employees working in designated maximum-security units of state hospitals may receive additional compensation in amounts up to 6.8 percent of the monthly pay.

Employees working in designated specialized behavioral management units may receive additional compensation in amounts up to 10 percent of monthly pay. Additionally, direct support professionals, nurses, social workers and physicians who interact with the residents of behavioral management units may also receive this compensation.

Determining Eligibility

HHSC will determine which employees are eligible for the increase.
