Lesson 8: Releasing Holds

Status of a Released Held Warrant – PYWTHR (Released)

Once a held warrant is released from hold, you can view the warrant and hold information in TINS on the Payee Warrant Hold Release (PYWTHR) screen.

Note: Paying agencies will only be able to see the payments they issued.

Access the PYWTHR screen:

  • By entering the T-code PYWTHR plus the TIN on Line One
  • –OR–
  • From the INQMEN menu screen

Hold release reason codes

A three-digit hold release reason code displays in the REL RSN field on PYWTHR to indicate the reason for the release of the held warrant. For a complete list of hold release reason codes, see the Warrant Hold Release Reason Codes section of TexPayment Resource. Paying agencies will only be able to see the released warrants they issued.

Note: The release reason code does not automatically mean the warrant was released back to the issuing agency. It could have been offset, released to the hold source agency, cancelled, etc.

DIST. TYPE
Displays the current payment distribution type:
  • RETURN TO AGENCY
    Warrant returned to paying agency for distribution
  • RETURN – HOLD
    Warrant held at Comptroller’s office due to hold
  • DIRECT DEPOSIT
    Payment sent via direct deposit
  • DIRECT DEPOSIT ON HOLD
    Direct deposit instructions overridden and warrant generated and held at Comptroller’s office
HOLD STATUS
Field is blank if TIN is not on hold.
REL RSN
Displays three-digit reason code indicating reason hold was released or offset.
RELEASE DATE
Displays date warrant was released or offset.
