General Provisions
Selective Service Registration
All state agencies must ensure that prospective employees who are required by federal law to register with the Selective Service System have done so. Agencies may not hire 18- to 25-year-old males unless they present proof of their registration with the selective service as required by federal law.
An employee may also provide proof of exemption from registration with the selective service. The exemption from registration does not apply to a person employed by a state agency before Sept. 1, 1999, as long as the person’s employment by the agency is continuous.
