Entering Board Members and Retired Judges in USPS

To enter board members and retired judges in USPS, create an exempt/unclassified position for the board member and then assign the board member to the position. You will need to indicate the board member type (either compensatory or per diem).

  • Per-diem board members receive reimbursement for standard per diem (meals, lodging and transportation) only.
  • Compensatory board members receive reimbursement for standard per diem, plus benefits that are paid in part by the state, such as state-paid FICA.

Only those employees who hold positions listed in each agency’s schedule of exempt positions in the GAA can be exempt.
