Agency Budget By Program

About this Procedure

If an agency budgets by program, both the D04 Program Code and the 26 PCA Profiles are required.

D04 Program Code Profile

The D04 Program Code Profile is used to control different program levels within an agency. The D04 establishes the agency’s Strategic Budget Structure electronically in USAS.

The 26 Program Cost Account Profile is established to determine the level of control for the agency budget.

Program Code-on the 26 Program Cost Account Profile, tells the system what program code on the agency's Strategic Budget Structure transactions using that particular PCA will update.

Note: The program code the PCA updates is not necessarily the program code the agency budget is controlled at. In the example above, the agency budget is controlled, tracked, and monitored at Level 2 (Objective Level). The system will refer back to the D04 Program Code Profile to determine what the program code for Level 2 is. In this example, the program code for the D04 is 2001 (see the D04 Program Code Profile screen on the preceding page).
