USAS User’s Manual –
Chapter 14 – Agency Budgeting (continued)
Agency Budgeting Profiles
Agency Budgeting is driven by the following profiles:
- 25 Agency Control Profile — determines if the agency will maintain an agency budget and what structure that budget will be established and maintained by [Strategic Budget Structure (D04) and/or Organization Structure (D03)] within the USAS system.
- D23 Fund Profile — controls whether the posting to the Agency Budget Table is at the Appropriated Fund level, the agency-defined D23 Fund, or no fund information will post.
- 20 Appropriation Profile — Agency Budget Indicators determine the object level for agency budget activity stored on the AB table and the severity of funding edits against the agency budget.
- 26 Program Cost Account Profile — controls the lowest level of the Strategic Budget Structure (D04) which
will track the agency budget.
Note: The Strategic Budget Structure can be set up at greater levels of detail than the level at which the agency budget is established and maintained.
- 24 Index Code Profile — controls the lowest level of the Organization Structure (D03) which will track
the agency budget.
Note: The Organization Structure can be set up at greater levels of detail than the level at which the agency budget is established and maintained.
25 Agency Control Profile
Agencies use the 25 Agency Control Profile to define some preliminary processing rules for the agency.

- Fund Level:
Agency Budget — defines the level of fund control for the agency budget. Determines whether data stored on the Agency Budget Financial table will be at either the agency-defined fund or the appropriated fund level or if no fund information will be stored on the AB table.
Note: You cannot store information at both fund and appropriated fund levels.
Note: The 20 Appropriation Number Profile controls the funding edits.
20 Appropriation Profile
For agency budgets, the 20 Appropriation Profile controls the severity of funding edits (fatal, warning, or ignore) and determines the object level used to store data on the AB table.
