Appropriation Structure
Purpose of Appropriation Structure
Appropriation uses appropriation numbers to identify each budgeted line item in the General Structure Appropriations Act (GAA).
Appropriation Structure may also be used to group appropriations by agency at appropriation group level or by type at appropriation type level.

Required Elements
Appropriation Number (20 Profile) is a required element. It also identifies each budgeted line item in the GAA and is the lowest level of the Appropriation Structure.
Appropriation number may be directly entered or inferred from the index or PCA.
Inferred Elements
Appropriation Structure infers two elements:
- Appropriation Group (D15 Profile)-reports sub-items within a program appropriation item as shown in the GAA.
- Titles (D53 Profile) Table ID: APTY-groups appropriations by type (operating, construction and higher education).
