Lesson 4: Additional Inquiry Screens

PYMAST – Payee Master Information

The Payee Master Information (PYMAST) screen displays master information for a payee. This information includes:

  • Payee number
  • TIN status
  • Hold status
  • Ownership type
  • IAT indicator
  • Taxpayer number (if the payee is a taxpayer)

Based on certain payee ownership types, additional information may be displayed on PYMAST:

Payee Ownership Type Additional Information on PYMAST Screen
Sole Owner Name + SSN (masked) or ITIN (masked)
Partnership Names + SSNs (masked), EINs or ITINs (masked) of two partners
Texas Limited Partnership
Texas Corporation
Professional Corporation Professional Association		 Texas charter number (issued by the office of the Secretary of State). The Texas charter number must be recorded if the payee has any of these four ownership types.

Field Descriptions

PAYEE NUMBER
Displays payee’s 11-digit TIN.
TAXPAYER NUMBER
Displays taxpayer (TP) number if payee is a Texas taxpayer.
TIN STATUS
Display of ACTIVE indicates the TIN can be used for payments; INACTIVE indicates TIN cannot be used for payments.
HOLD STATUS
If no hold exists, field is BLANK; when a hold exists, field displays ON HOLD.
OWNERSHIP TYPE
Displays type of ownership.
IAT INDICATOR
If not applicable, field is BLANK; field displays Y if any agency received confirmation that payments are destined for financial institution outside of the U.S. (For more on the IAT, see the IAT and TINS IAT Indicator Tutorial.)
SOLE OWNER’S NAME
Only populated if ownership type is SOLE OWNER — displays owner’s name and SSN (masked) or ITIN (masked).
PARTNER’S SSN/ITIN/EIN
PARTNER’S NAMES
Only populated if ownership type is PARTNERSHIP – SSNs and ITINs are masked.
TEXAS CHARTER NUMBER
Only populated if ownership type is TEXAS LIMITED PARTNERSHIP, TEXAS CORPORATION, PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION or PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION.
