TINS Inquiry Web-Based Training

Lesson 1: What Is TINS?

How Information Gets Into TINS

Payee and payment information gets into TINS in several ways depending on the state agency and the type of information or circumstances. Three methods of getting information into TINS are:

  • TINS online entry, which provides real-time updates.
  • Electronic file transfer (EFT) from agency internal systems, referred to as batch processing.
  • System-generated transactions from TINS automated processes or other system interfaces such as the statewide accounting systems.

This training is focused primarily on the TINS inquiry screens to access payee and payment information.
