Lesson 6: Bankruptcy Records
Deleting a Bankruptcy Record
As with all TINS maintenance transactions processed by an agency, the agency that sets up the bankruptcy record is the only agency that can delete the record on BKRUPD.
Step 1: Follow the steps in Recalling a Bankruptcy Record in this lesson.
Step 2: If the bankruptcy record you recalled is the one to be deleted, change the R to D=delete in the ACTION field and select Enter.
Step 3: Verify the record displayed is the correct record to delete when the message DELETE RECORD? (Y/N) displays.
- Enter Y if it is the correct record and select Enter. A dialogue box displays at the bottom of the screen with:
- HOLD NUMBER: XXXXXXXXXXX.
- PF keys to navigate to other TINS screens.
- The message RECORD DELETED.
- Enter N if is not the correct record to delete and select Enter. The message RECORD NOT DELETED displays at the bottom of the screen. Repeat Steps 1-3.

RECORD DELETED
When all hold records have been released for a debtor or payee who was set up with a bankruptcy record, TINS automatically deletes the bankruptcy record(s).
- Follow the steps in Recalling a Bankruptcy Record to verify the record was deleted.
- The Payee Maintenance History (PMTHIS) screen, covered in Lesson 7, displays the history of bankruptcy transactions.
See TINS Bankruptcy File (BKRUPD)
on TexPayment Resource for more information about the BKRUPD screen.
