Lesson 4: Notification of Change and Returned Money

TINS PMTHIS Screen

Payee Maintenance History (PMTHIS) screen

The TINS PMTHIS screen shows a history of all maintenance items, including NOCs that may affect system information.

View the PMTHIS screen after setups, changes and history inquiries. You should get in the habit of using this page for research. It shows:

  • Timelines of actions
  • What kind of actions took place
  • Exception codes indicating a transaction failure

Because TINS doesn't have a total picture in one convenient place, you often have to navigate through several screens to find the information you need.

Search Tip: To make searching easier, you can group all like actions on the PMTHIS screen:

  1. Navigate to the end of the command line
  2. Type .1
  3. Press Enter

When you use this sorting action, it displays the transactions on the history screen with all like actions grouped together in chronological order. This allows for a quicker search when searching for a particular type of action.

Notifications of Change (NOCs) codes

An NOC provides a code in TINS you can use to get a quick idea of what happened to a particular direct deposit that day.

Example

In the above PMTHIS screen shot, NOC – R02 is highlighted. This particular NOC code is letting you know the payment was returned because the account is closed. From here, you can refer to your agency reports for more detail and also have a heads up that you should be receiving that particular payment back in the near future.
