Personal Residences

No more than $25,000 in funds appropriated by the General Appropriations Act (GAA) may be used to purchase, remodel or repair a personal residence or living quarters unless the expenditures are either:

  • Required by court order.
  • Resulting in:
    • Increased safety
    • Significant net cost savings
      –or–
    • Prevention of substantial waste
  • Specifically identified in a capital budget in the GAA.

The governor and the Legislative Budget Board must approve expending more than $25,000.
