With Appointed Governing Board Members

During the member’s first two years of service as a member, each appointed member must attend at least one training program under the Texas Education Code.

With Elected Governing Board Members

Each elected member of the governing board of an institution of higher education may attend a training program conducted under the Texas Education Code.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board is required to establish a registration fee to be paid by training program participants in an amount adequate to cover the costs of the program.

A participant must pay the registration fee from private funds. The fee and the participant’s transportation, lodging and meal costs are not reimbursable from appropriated funds. They may be reimbursed from available grants and donations of private funds.
