General Provisions — Statutory Authority of the Comptroller
Major Functions
The Fiscal Management Division carries out the following statutory duties of the Comptroller:
- Supervises and manages the state’s fiscal concerns as the sole accounting officer of the state.
- Prescribes the forms on which all accounts presented to the Comptroller’s office for settlement must be made.
- Prescribes forms or electronic formats that are uniform in size, content, purpose and layout.
- Audits the payment of claims made against the state.
- Draws warrants from the State Treasury for authorized state spending.
