General Provisions — Statutory Authority of the Comptroller
Electronic Funds Transfer

The Comptroller’s office is required to establish and operate an electronic funds transfer system, including direct deposit, so payments may be made electronically.

Because of the cost savings that result for the state, the Comptroller’s office strives to make payments via electronic funds transfer whenever feasible.

Benefits of direct deposit:

  • No lost or stolen warrants
  • Fully traceable payments
  • No deposit delays
  • No waiting in long bank lines
  • Improved cash flow
