Policy
Certain state statutes require institutions of higher education to set aside specific amounts of tuition charged or collected to support the following loan repayment programs:
- Dental School,
- Dental Hygiene
The institutions must also transfer these funds to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) by the tenth working day of the month following the deposit.

Depositing Set-Aside Funds into the State Treasury
Dental Schools
Section 61.910, Education Code, requires the governing board of each dental school of an institution of higher education to set aside 2 percent of tuition charges for resident students enrolled in a dentist training degree program. The funds will be used to repay the student loans of dentists participating in this program. Deposit the funds in the State Treasury, in accordance with Section 51.008 (b) Education Code, using the coding block below with a Document Type D, Batch Type 2:

Dental Hygienist Degree or Certification Programs
Section 61.9660, Education Code, requires the governing board of each institution of higher education authorized to award a degree or certificate in dental hygiene to set aside 2 percent of tuition charges for resident students enrolled in their dental hygiene programs. The funds will be used to repay the student loans of dental hygienists participating in this program. Deposit the funds in the State Treasury, in accordance with Section 51.008 (b) Education Code, using the coding block below with a Document Type D, Batch Type 2:
