Moving Around in USAS
- Tab Key
- Press the Tab key to move from field to field.
- Shift + Tab
- Press and hold Shift then press Tab to move backwards from field to field.
- Home Key
- Press the Home key to move the cursor to the LINK TO field in the top left corner of the screen or the first available field on the screen.
- End Key
- Press the End key to clear data from the cursor's position to the end of the field.
- End (F3)
- The F3 key terminates a process. The system backs out of the current screen and returns to the related submenu without processing any entered information.
Note: The submenu will be recalled regardless of whether the Menu system or LINK TO was originally used to access the screen.
- Interrupt (F4)
- Use the interrupt feature to hold your place in one screen while you refer to another screen. Enter the desired interrupt destination in the LINK TO field of your primary screen, but press F4 instead of Enter to allow you to refer to other screens while entering data in the primary. While using Interrupt, the word “Active” appears in the upper left of the screen you are viewing, usually under the LINK TO field. To return from your interrupt destination to your primary screen, press F4 again.
- Process (F6)
- Press F6 from a transaction entry screen to process the information and advance to the next transaction sequence. The information just processed will be retained as a template for the next transaction. Pressing Enter, by contrast, yields slightly different results. It will process the information entered, advance to the next transaction sequence and clear the screen for the next transaction.
- USAS Online Help
- USAS Online Help (News/Help 90 screen) provides information to assist USAS users. Access the Help screen by pressing the F1 key. Because Help functions as an interrupt, you can press F4 to return from the Help screen to the screen you were working on.
Note: Besides using F1, you can get to the News/Help (90) screen via the menu system, or by entering 90 in the LINK TO field.
