IAT and TINS IAT Indicator Tutorial
Removing the IAT Indicator
In almost all cases, once the IAT indicator (Y) has been placed in the system, it is not removed. It remains in place as a warning to all agencies that, at some point in time, the payee confirmed their intention to ultimately transfer a direct deposit payment to a financial institution outside of the U.S.
Important note: Because of the potential of a TIN to be paid by multiple state agencies, it is important the IAT Indicator be in place. If you have specific questions on the removal of the indicator, please call the Payment Services section of the Comptroller's Fiscal Management Division at (512) 936-8138 to discuss your situation.
Steps to Delete an IAT Indicator Set in Error
Follow these steps if you unintentionally set the IAT IND and want to remove it (PMTHIS will record agency actions):
- Access the Payee Master Level Change (PCHGMS) screen for the appropriate payee TIN.
- Delete the Y in the IAT IND field so the field displays a blank.
- If no other fields are being updated, press Enter to update the payee master record.
