Report 549 USPS Overpayment Report

This report displays salaried employees who have received base pay greater than their authorized amount. The Fiscal Management Division at the Comptroller’s office will use this report to track these overpayments for audit purposes. Hourly employees are not included.

Common discrepancies:

  • Payments for back dated salary increases
  • Pay frequency changes: monthly to semi-monthly
  • Pay type changes: full-time to part-time
  • Additional hours paid to part-time employees

If there are no discrepancies, then No Discrepancies for this Agency will appear.

Report Criteria

Frequency Monthly. This report will be scheduled to run each month automatically on or after the 15th, and the report dates will be automatically generated for the previous month, 1st thru the end of the month.

Displays the end date of request period.

Displays the employee’s SSN.
ORG CODE HNH.ORGCODE
Displays the employee’s organization code.
OBJECT CODE H0H.LABORCDEXT
Displays the USAS expenditure code assigned to each type of regular wage paid to the employee. See HO5U1 for a list of these object codes.
JOB CLASS HNH.JOBCLASS
Displays the employee’s job classification code.
EMPL TYPE HNH.EMPTYPE
Displays the employee’s pay type.
PAY CHG RC HNH.HRISREASCD
Displays the reason code for the employee’s last salary action, if it occurred during the request period.
NAME HID.RPTNAME
Displays the employee’s name.
POSITION HNH.POSITION
Displays the employee’s position number.
BASE PAY AMT H0H.REG
Displays the total regular wages paid to the employee for the request period.
GRP HNH.POSPAYGRP
Displays the employee’s pay group.
STEP HNH.ACTUALSTEP
Displays the employee’s pay step, if applicable.
AUTH AMT HNH.HSALARY
For those employees who had a change in pay during the month of the report, the report will use the highest salary in history to compute the authorized amount.
EFFECTIVE DATE HNH.HLSTINCRDT
Displays the date of the employee’s last salary action, if it occurred during the request period.
DISCREPANCY AMT DERIVED
Displays the difference between BASE PAY AMT and AUTH AMT when the base pay amount is greater than the authorized amount.
