USPS Process Guide
Appendix M – Employee Information System

Introduction

The Employee Information System (EIS) is an online system providing state agency employees with secure access for viewing and printing earnings statements and/or leave summaries. The system allows agency-authorized administrators to view agency employee statements in EIS the day after a payroll is finalized (employees must wait until the payment date). EIS also provides Help Desk functionality that allows authorized agency personnel to reset employee passwords and accounts.

An earnings statement is generated and posted in EIS each time an employee receives a payroll payment. It is viewable by the employee on the payment date.

A leave summary is posted monthly in EIS as the agency processes the Employee Leave Summary (537) Report.

Four USPS security profiles are required to support EIS. As part of the implementation process, agency security coordinators must request these profiles:

Profile Description Function
WEBACCT Reset Account This profile is appropriate for a ‘Help Desk Master’ and allows a designated agency employee to reset accounts for agency employees. This function is frequently requested for Payroll Administrators.
WEBPWD Reset Password This profile is appropriate for a ‘Basics’ level Help Desk. It allows a designated agency employee to reset passwords once the customer has provided sufficient proof of identity. This function is frequently requested for Payroll Administrators.
WEBEARN View and/or print Earnings Statements This profile is appropriate for the Payroll Officer or other personnel assisting employees with questions on earnings statements.
WEBLEAVE View and/or print Leave Summaries This profile is appropriate for the Leave Accountant or other personnel assisting employees with questions on leave summaries.

Screens associated with the EIS:

  • Employee Pay and Labor Information (H0BUN)
  • Agency Domain Names (HMEDN)
  • Earnings Statement on Web Message (HMERN)
  • Leave Summary on Web Message (HMELV)
  • Additional Individual Information (HO0UZ)
