ACR 60123 – USPS System Change
Aug. 28, 2015
Introduction
Application Change Request (ACR) 60123 migrated in the Uniform Statewide Payroll/Personnel System (USPS) on Aug. 28, 2015, to protect personal information for Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) and Texas Military Department (TMD) employees effective Sept. 1, 2015.
Issue
House Bills 1311 and 2152, 84th Legislature, Regular Session, exempted current and former TJJD and TMD employees from the requirement to elect whether to allow public access to certain personal information under the Public Information Act. The Legislature made the home address, home telephone number, emergency contact information, Social Security number and family information of TJJD and TMD employees confidential.
USPS stores a protect indicator for employees whose information is exempted from release to the public. The protect indicator field required modification to include TJJD and TMD employees.
Solution
This ACR modified two of the five existing values for the PROTECT IND
field to include TJJD and TMD employees.
The help behind the indicator now includes a link to the table of agencies included in the confidential employee information designation.
