ACR 44024 – USPS System Change

Introduction
ACR 44024 created the Additional Payroll Retirement Contribution deduction on Sept. 3, 2013. The effective date of the changes is Sept. 1, 2013.
Issue
The 2014–15 General Appropriations Act, Article IX, Section 17.13, requires each state agency to contribute an amount equal to 0.5 percent of the total base wages and salaries for each benefits-eligible employee to the Employees Retirement System’s Retirement Program, beginning with the September 2013 pay period.
Solution
The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts has published the rules and regulations to administer the program. For more information, see Additional Payroll Retirement Contribution (2013) (FPP P.006).
