ACR 30653 — USPS System Change

Introduction

ACR 30653 modified the Uniform Statewide Payroll/Personnel System (USPS) to create the Payroll Health Insurance Contribution deduction that goes into effect Sept. 1, 2011.

Issue

The General Appropriations Act, Article IX, Section 18.09, requires each state agency and institution of higher education (not including components of the University of Texas and Texas A&M Systems) to contribute an amount equal to 1.0 percent of the total base wages and salaries for each benefits-eligible employee to the Employees Retirement System’s Group Benefits Program, beginning with the September 2011 pay period.

Solution
