Introduction

ACR 28296 modifies the Payroll and Personnel Management modules of the Uniform Statewide Payroll/Personnel System (USPS) effective Feb. 25, 2010.

Issue

If an agency rehires an employee, USPS turns off all of the deductions but not all special pays during the new hire process. As a result, rehired employees may receive special pays that they are no longer eligible to receive.

Solution

USPS has been modified to turn off all special pays upon rehire to the same agency except for imputed income. In addition, the system will ensure that the new hire process does not turn off longevity, hazardous duty, benefit replacement or corporal pay if appropriate for the employee or position.
