ACR 44033 — SPRS System Change
Sept. 3, 2013
Introduction
ACR 44033 created new deduction and state match codes related to Payroll Retirement Contribution and Law Enforcement and Custodial Officer Supplemental (LECOS) Retirement contributions on Sept. 3, 2013. The effective date of the changes is Sept. 1, 2013.
Issue
The 2014–15 General Appropriations Act, Article IX, Section 17.13, requires each state agency to contribute an amount equal to 0.5 percent of the total base wages and salaries for each benefits-eligible employee to the Employees Retirement System’s Retirement Program, beginning with the September 2013 pay period.
In addition, Senate Bill 1and Senate Bill 1459 from the 83rd Legislature, Regular Session, established a need for a new vendor ID structure related to LECOS Retirement contributions.
Solution
The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts has published the rules and regulations to administer the program. For more information, see Additional Payroll Retirement Contribution (2013) (FPP P.006).
