ACR 60434 – New HRIS Entitlement Codes Related to FFCRA

Introduction

Application Change Request (ACR) 60434 modified the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to create two new entitlement codes May 1, 2020, retroactively effective April 1, 2020, in response to the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA).

Issue

Congress passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) on March 18, 2020, effective April 1, 2020. This law, amended by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, requires certain employers to provide employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19.

Two new entitlement codes were created in HRIS. These new options and the associated entitlement codes will only apply from April 1, 2020, through Dec. 31, 2020.

Solution

This ACR established entitlement codes FFS (FFCRA Paid Sick Care) and FFL (FFCRA FMLA Paid Leave), effective April 1, 2020. Expenditure Object 7013 – Higher Ed-Emergency Paid Leave FFCRA has been created for these entitlements
