CAPPS System Changes - September 2023

The system change information below provides a summary of the new and/or updated functionality that was implemented into the CAPPS Production environment during the indicated month, including the Service Request (SR) number for the change. This information is reviewed monthly during the CAPPS user group meetings.

The current Release Notes format began in April 2023. For additional details about the SRs listed in months prior to April 2023, CAPPS agency support staff can view the SR details via the SR ticketing system.

CAPPS Financials Changes

  • TX.gov corrections for Cash Receipts no longer cause a change in check number. (SR 30372)
  • Cash Receipts batch approval pages have been modified to ensure navigation between the rows is accurate. (SR 33587)
  • Improved performance on the purchase order component save functionality. (SR 35832)
  • A query has been created that provides a list of private queries that have not been run in the last 30 months. (SR 36052)
  • A query has been created that shows queries owned by users who have been inactive for 12 months. (SR 36054)

CAPPS HR/Payroll Changes

  • New SSN edits implemented on the Employee Load process, so that CAPPS Support users can ensure invalid SSNs are not loaded into the CAPPS system. (SR 8180)
  • The BRP election page displays current BRP options for employees eligible for BRP, so that they know whether they need to make a new selection during the election period to change their current option. (SR 43013)
  • Edits added to the CAPPS system when loading the SECC file, employees who have made more than 3 campaign elections or allocated less than $2 to their charity will not be loaded. (SR 43530)
  • EPM administrators can transfer and delete a performance note that was created within the agency, so that processing can continue, or updates be made as necessary, or in the event the document owner changes. (SR 44394)
  • Edit implemented for 4 characters on the fiscal year on the Dept Budget Table, so that Commitment Accounting (CA) managers don’t have to reconfigure the Dept Budget Table with the FY in the correct format. (SR 45417)
  • The SPRS HR process sends direct deposit transactions to an employee’s active or most recent employment agency, so that direct deposit transactions can be successfully processed by SPRS and TINS. (SR 45502)
  • The CPE Main Load process now allows payroll processors the ability to pay the maximum BSY amount during the on-cycle payroll without receiving an error, so that employees get paid correctly and on time. (SR 46864)
  • The CAPPS Recruit reports now reflect the updated military employment preference information, so that CAPPS Recruit Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) reports users can report on statutorily-collected recruiting information. (SR 47151)
  • TL Leave Pool Administrators can now track the legislative leave pool for certain peace officers, so that manually tracking of the balance outside of CAPPS is not necessary. (SR 47190)
  • A new query created, (TX_QRY_PRIVATE_NOT_RUN_30MTHS), so that the CAPPS support team and core human resources (HR) users can run to identify private agency queries which will be deleted by a new monthly job, so that they’re aware which private queries will be removed from the system. (SR 47374)
  • New A46, W46 and V46 action reasons added to the multi-tenant tree for TX_ACTV_EMPL_VW, TX_ACTV_LIST_VW and TX_LASTSALACTVW, so that Query Managers, Query Viewer in CAPPS HCMRPT1 and/or Query Viewer in CAPPS Production users can report on this new action reason. (SR 47527)
  • New field created to capture the A46 date on the TX_EMPLYEES_CUR record to give core human resources (HR) users the ability to identify the date of a last increase for an employee in their current active employment periods, so that this information can be used for reporting. (SR 47528)
  • New A46, W46 and V46 action reason have been included on the Personal Changes Report so that core human resources (HR) users can accurately report all lateral transfers. (SR 47536)
  • The Employee Monthly Time Report has been updated, so that it displays data related to the legislative leave pool and Paid Parental Leave Plan activities similar to other comp time off plans. (SR 47567)
  • A new Legislative Leave Pool report created, so that TL leave pool administrators can view activity like the Family/Sick Leave Pool report. (SR 47569)
  • A new query created (TX-QRY_PRIVATE_TERMED_EE), so that the CAPPS support team and core human resources (HR) users can run to identify private agency queries owned by employees who are not active and have been terminated for over 12 months, so that they’re aware which private queries will be removed from the system. (SR 47843)
  • The system has been modified to consider work hours from all active eligible employment instances when determining which benefit program the employee should be enrolled in, so that premiums will be deducted correctly from their paychecks. (SR 47892)
  • The two new military preference designations of Spouse Member and Spouse Primary that have been added to the TX_HR_AGY_VETERANS_STATUS_ALL query, so that core human resources (HR) users can accurately report. (SR 48159)
  • Changes to the payroll calculation stream process (Job TXPYCALC, TX_PY_EDITS AE) to limit one or multiple earning code maximum amounts as defined on the CAPPS Customer Config page and generate a report with the correct FY/CY information. (SR 48283)
  • Created a new view and added to the query tree that provides the necessary details for queries, so that access to PII information is not available to other agency users. (SR 48291)
  • Added the department name to the TX_TL_ASSGN_SCHED_AGY query, so that prompt results are displayed based on the company selected. (SR 48482)
