TINS Warrant Hold Web-Based Training
Description
The TINS warrant hold web-based training (WBT) is for TINS online users, particularly state agency staff responsible for entering, maintaining or changing and releasing hold records in the Texas Identification Number System (TINS).
This WBT is an intermediate-level course for TINS users that covers:
- The state warrant hold program, statutes and policies.
- Setting up, changing and releasing hold and bankruptcy records.
- The impact on payments due to a state hold.
- Warrant hold offsets.
Prerequisites
The prerequisites for this WBT are:
- Six months of TINS experience

Objectives
After completing the TINS Warrant Hold WBT, users should understand:
- The state warrant hold program, including state statutes, policies and state agency responsibilities for reporting and maintaining state debts.
- The impact of warrant hold on payments to state payees, state employees and retirees.
- TINS online hold screens, forms and reports.
- Processing bankruptcy records for state debtors.
- The warrant hold offset process.

On successful completion of the end-of-course exam, you will receive one hour of continuing professional education (CPE) credit.
