TINS Direct Deposit Web-Based Training
Description
This web-based training (WBT) is for state agency staff whose responsibilities include setting up, changing, canceling and researching direct deposit information in the Texas Identification Number System (TINS).
The WBT focuses on online direct deposit processing.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites include one or a combination of:
- Six months of TINS experience.
- Completion of both the TINS Inquiry Web-Based Training and TINS Online Entry Web-Based Training.
- Review of Setting Up, Changing or Canceling Direct Deposit on TexPayment Resource.
Objectives
After completing the training, users should:
- Understand the direct deposit process through the automated clearing house (ACH) network.
- Know the direct deposit screens to set up, change and cancel direct deposit for their agency’s payees.
- Know how to search direct deposit payee and payment information.
- Understand the notifications of change process, direct deposit agency reports and the effect of a state warrant hold on a direct deposit payee.
- Know the processes for returned money items and direct deposit reversals and reversal deadlines.
Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credit
On successful completion of the end-of-course exam, you will receive one hour of continuing professional education (CPE) credit.
