Receiving Data for Transferring Employees (USPS to USPS Agencies) — H0BIN

Prerequisite: As a receiving agency, you must complete the Entering a New Hire in USPS before beginning this process.

Also, the losing agency must have:

  • Finalized all payments and adjustments,
  • Terminated the employee on USPS using reason code 065 and a term date one day prior to the hire date at the new agency, and
  • Transferred records to include year-to-date social security tax information, special pays, prior state service and direct deposit information.

Key Fields:

AGENCY NUMBER, EMPLOYEE SSN

  1. Contact the losing agency to transfer the employee’s records on H0BU4.

    Note: This screen is used to transfer direct deposit. Once an employee is terminated from the losing agency and hired at the gaining agency, the gaining agency can use H0BIN screen to transfer direct deposit information and prior state service data. Only direct deposit information that is currently active at the losing agency will transfer.

  2. Enter R in the SUBCOMMAND field.
  3. Enter the following field:

    TRANSFER FROM AGENCY
    Y Transfer optional records (such as education data and skills data) and transfer HN8U1/HQHAZ with a break in service. Only transfers if Y is entered.
  4. Press the Enter key.
