Report 956 Retirement Type Discrepancy
This report should be used by agencies to ensure the correct retirement 90-day wait status is on file in USPS for newly hired employees. It is the product of a program in USPS that compares data sent by ERS regarding an employees’ retirement 90-day wait status to an employee’s retirement indicator on file in USPS.
If the retirement 90-day wait status indicator ERS sends conflicts with the retirement indicator on file in USPS, a message describing the discrepancy will be generated. Agencies should research any messages generated on this report, confirm the correct retirement 90-day wait status with ERS and make any applicable changes to the retirement indicator in USPS.
