Appendix E – H/R Processor: Rules of Position Creation

Introduction

Use of the CREATE POSITION and CREATE/UPDATE HNP fields on HMPHR is affected by the agency-level create position switch, which resides on the H0CUS screen. The following matrices illustrate how to either move an employee to a newly created position record or leave the employee in the existing position when a new one is not required. Find the matrix for your agency's create position switch in order to review the relevant scenarios.
