USAS/TINS Input Record File Sweep Schedule Rules

The Comptroller’s Systems Input/Output (SIO) Group performs a sweep to collect all USAS and TINS input record (IN) files — also known as INRECs — from agencies for the nightly batch processing. The SIO sweep of IN files is only performed on weekdays (Monday through Friday), including state and federal holidays, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If you need to submit a USAS or TINS IN file on a weekend or holiday, please note the rules in the table below.

  • If multiple files are submitted on the same day, the earlier file(s) is replaced by subsequent files.
  • Only the last file is swept.
Weekend

No Monday, unless Monday is Christmas Day
  • If multiple files are submitted over a weekend, the earlier file(s) is replaced by subsequent files.
  • The last file is only swept if no additional file is submitted on the next weekday.
Thanksgiving Day No Friday
  • If multiple files are submitted on Thanksgiving Day, the earlier file(s) is replaced by subsequent files.
  • The last file is only swept if no additional file is submitted on the next weekday.
Christmas Day No Night of next weekday
  • If multiple files are submitted on Christmas Day, the earlier file(s) is replaced by subsequent files.
  • The last file is only swept if no additional file is submitted on the next weekday.
Other Holidays Falling on a Weekday

Yes Same night
  • If multiple files are submitted on the same day, the earlier file(s) is replaced by subsequent files.
  • Only the last file is swept.
No Same Night
  • If multiple files are submitted on the same day, the earlier file(s) is replaced by subsequent files.
  • The last file submitted on the holiday is swept and combined with the last file submitted on the next weekday when a cycle is scheduled for processing.
